I know "I am." It is the "who I am," that continues to evolve. Having come from a very modest background, I believe my expectations for
"who I would be," were fairly limited. I did follow the dictates of the times, work hard, get an education. Having retired several years ago after 51 years in business with some modicum of success, I sought new challenges, one of which was to pursue something that has long been of interest. From business to the art world, as a "wannabe" painter, my new passion, some might say obsession.
Having moved to Nantucket full time several years ago, I am delighted to now be a part of its very significant art community. It is a very welcoming and nurturing community, an environment that is the envy of many a visiting artist. Nantucket's history, 24 miles out to sea, it's quaintness, its cobblestone streets, its views, the moors, beaches, the sea itself and all of the boating/sailing activities, the diversity of its flora, as well as its full time population, incredible fodder for an artist's canvas. Now I know the answer to the question, "who am I"?
